Mother's Day Cards

Since my mom already received it, I can share the springy card I made for Mother's Day.

I just LOVE this card design. Not too difficult, and packs a big WOW factor.

To make it extra special, I added a little glitter and made a coordinating envelope.

I love my mom! Big shout-out to her for sitting at the booth with me for 8+ hours at a craft fair last week! :) One of my best sellers was this adorable little flower pot Mother's Day pocket card (inspired by Julie Davison).

My sisters, best friend, and grandma all received this one from me. I love them all too! :)

I get lots of "orders" for custom gifts and cards from my family. My mom recently bought a set of 10 monogram notecards for a coworker.

The recipient liked them so much, she ordered 3 sets of 5 notecards for birthday gifts! I love changing things up and experimenting with different patterns and color combos.

#yourewelcome

My sister's birthday was yesterday and I wanted to make her a card using two current stamping challenges. But in the end, it turned out to be a good masculine card so I'll save it for someone else.

My layout inspiration came from Mojo Monday #387 (MOJO387), and my palette came from Color Throwdown #332 (CTD332). The colors reminded me of the Fresh Prints DSP Stack from last year, which included Real Red, Coastal Cabana, and Crumb Cake. I threw in a little Night of Navy to finish it off.

I couldn't wait to use the fun new stamp set "Balloon Bash." How adorably snarky is the #yourewelcome?

Stampin' Dimensionals really take this card to the next level. I cut out both the banner and balloon and propped them up to create a little 3D interest.

Stamps: Balloon Bash
Paper: Fresh Prints DSP Stack, Crumb Cake CS, Night of Navy CS, Whisper White CS
Colors: Real Red, Coastal Cabana, & Night of Navy Markers
Tools: Paper Snips, Project Life Corner Punch
Accessories: Neutrals Candy Dots, Linen Thread, Stampin' Dimensionals

Baja Snowflake

It may seem silly to be creating a Christmas card at the end of January, but I am playing along with the ladies at 'Tis the Season for their latest color challenge (TTS9)!

Instead of Marina Mist, I used Baja Breeze. I have a TON of Baja Breeze felt snowflakes left over from another project, and I'm trying to use them up. I also wanted to use the Ski Slope DSP because it has BOTH colors in it!

For my layout, I used the sketch from Mojo Monday #330 (MOJO330).

My "tall & skinny" card measures 4" by 7" so I had to make a custom envelope for it. I used the same pattern of DSP that I used on the card, so it coordinates beautifully!

Here is a peek at just the envelope itself. If you have been holding off on getting the Envelope Punch Board, I highly recommend it. It is definitely on my list of top 3 stamping tools I couldn't live without!

Purchase this card here!

Stamps: Mini Mates
Paper: Ski Slope DSP, Baja Breeze CS, Chocolate Chip CS, Whisper White CS
Colors: Chocolate Chip Ink
Tools: Circles Collection Framelits, Big Shot, 1" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Envelope Punch Board
Accessories: Little Felt Flurries, Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals

Christmas Love

So glad that the ladies at Tis the Season extended their latest challenge (TTS6). I made this card for my special someone - thought the colors were bold and manly. This time though, I was not able to use the optional trimming (embossing). I just had no time because I am a procrastinator extraordinaire. Also, I just HAD to make a card for Mojo Monday challenge #325 (MOJO325) because 3/25 is my birthday! :)

The little "love" banner is from a stamp set that is coming during Sale-a-Bration (begins the end of January). The best part is, there is a matching punch! AND the punch will be available in next year's catalog (in case you don't get it during SAB).

Stamps: Best Yet, Banner Blast (SAB)
Paper: Print Poetry DSP Stack, Old Olive CS, Rich Razzleberry CS, Very Vanilla CS
Colors: Midnight Muse Ink, Old Olive Ink
Tools: Full Heart Punch, Banner Punch (SAB)
Accessories: Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

From Our House to Yours

The Snow Festival Designer Series Paper from last year's Holiday Catalog is so much fun! I wanted to use the pattern with little houses on it, and I found the perfect sentiment to match. I'm entering this clean-and-simple card into the Curtain Call Challenge: CAS-ual Christmas.

I thought Primrose Petals would be a fun, non-traditional Christmas card color. On both the front and inside of this card, I stamped in VersaMark ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The inside uses the new Endless Wishes photopolymer stamp set. The coolest thing about photopolymer stamps is that they are COMPLETELY see-through! So you don't even need a Stamp-a-ma-jig, because once you ink it up, you can see exactly where you are going to stamp! (Well, it was a little difficult when using VersaMark, since it is also clear. But with normal ink, you're good to go!)

You know I made a matching envelope! :)

My Sweet Season stamp set is for sale. Click here to see it on Etsy, along with many of my handmade card sets!

Stamps: Sweet Season, Endless Wishes
Paper: Snow Festival DSP, Primrose Petals CS
Ink: VersaMark

THREE Posts Today!

Wow, I must be on a stamping roll! Actually, I realized this morning that a bunch of challenges were ending today, and I really wanted to participate, so I had to hurry up and make cards for them! This one is for the Color Throwdown Challenge #268 (CTD268).

I stayed true to the colors, even though I kind of wanted to substitute Soft Sky for the Pool Party. This combo made me think: flowers, stems, and sky. So that is what I made! (With pictures, there is a fine line between accurately representing the colors, and not washing out the white parts of the card - sorry.)

The leaves were also made with the flower punch - I just cut the "petals" apart. The stems are very thinly cut strips of cardstock.

The flowers and sentiment are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Had to make a pretty envelope! This way of decorating an envelope just requires Snail and Paper Snips - no Big Shot or special tools.

Operation Write Home is always in need of more "miss you" cards for soldiers to send home to friends and family. Learn more about donating cards here. This card will be headed their way once I have a decent amount of cards to send.

If you would like to donate, but don't have time to get envelopes, follow all the rules, etc, feel free to send cards (or card-fronts from swaps and whatnot) to me. However, please make sure you at least take a look at their deadlines; i.e. don't send me any Christmas cards at this point in time. Write a comment below or send me an email at funkyj25@yahoo.com and I can give you my mailing address. Thanks! :)
